Novaluron 5.25% + Emamectin Benzoate 0.9% SC is a powerful, dual-action insecticide widely used in agriculture to control a broad range of Lepidopteran pests (caterpillars and borers).
It combines two different modes of action to provide both immediate "knockdown" and long-lasting protection, making it an excellent tool for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and resistance management.
Novaluron (5.25%): An Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). It inhibits chitin synthesis, which prevents larvae from forming new skin during molting, eventually leading to their death.
Emamectin Benzoate (0.9%): A neurotoxin that causes immediate paralysis and stops the pest from feeding within hours of ingestion or contact.
The dosage typically varies depending on the crop and the severity of the infestation. Below are the standard recommendations for the most common crops:
| Target Crop | Target Pests | Dosage (per Acre) | Water Volume |
| Cabbage | Diamondback Moth (DBM), Tobacco Caterpillar | 350 400 ml | 200 Liters |
| Chilli | Fruit Borer, Tobacco Caterpillar | 350 400 ml | 200 Liters |
| Red Gram | Pod Borer | 350 400 ml | 200 Liters |
| Rice (Paddy) | Stem Borer, Leaf Folder | 600 ml | 200 Liters |
Note: For small-scale applications, use approximately 2 ml per liter of water (or about 3035 ml per 15-liter spray pump).
Quick Action: Pests stop feeding almost immediately after application, preventing further crop damage.
Residual Control: Provides protection for 1015 days due to its stable formulation.
Translaminar Movement: Emamectin benzoate penetrates the leaf tissue, creating a reservoir that kills pests feeding on the underside of leaves.
Phytotonic Effect: Often results in a "greening effect" (lush green foliage) on crops like chilli and rice.
Timing: Best applied during the early morning or late evening when the air is still.
Protective Gear: Always wear gloves, a mask, and goggles during mixing and spraying.
Safety to Bees: Avoid spraying when bees are actively foraging, as it can be toxic to pollinators and aquatic life.
Waiting Period: The PHI (Pre-Harvest Interval) is generally 3 days for vegetables like cabbage and chilli, but up to 30+ days for rice and pulses. Check your specific product label.
