Sulphur 40% SC

Sulphur 40% SC (Suspension Concentrate) is a liquid formulation used widely in agriculture as a multi-action product. It serves three primary functions: a contact fungicide, a miticide (acaricide), and an essential plant nutrient.

Because it is a "Suspension Concentrate," the sulphur particles are ultra-fine (typically less than 35 microns), allowing for better coverage, better sticking properties, and reduced risk of leaf burn compared to traditional sulphur dust.

## Key Benefits and Uses

• Disease Control: It is highly effective against Powdery Mildew, Rust, and various Leaf Spot diseases. It works by disrupting the fungal cell metabolism and preventing spore germination.

• Pest Control: It acts as a contact miticide, helping to manage infestations of Red Spider Mites, Pink Mites, and Purple Mites.

• Nutritional Supplement: Sulphur is the fourth major plant nutrient. This liquid form is quickly converted into sulphates $(SO_4^{2-})$ that plants can easily absorb to improve chlorophyll production and protein synthesis.

• Crop Safety: Unlike dusting powders, the SC formulation is generally safer for tender leaves, fruits, and berries when used at recommended doses.

The dosage can vary slightly depending on the crop and the severity of the infection, but general guidelines are:

## Important Safety & Usage Tips

• Avoid High Heat: Do not spray when temperatures exceed 30C (85F), as this can cause phytotoxicity (leaf burn), especially in sulphur-sensitive crops like cucurbits (melons, cucumbers).

• Mixing: Always shake the bottle well before use. It can be tank-mixed with most other pesticides, but a small compatibility "jar test" is recommended first.

• Timing: For best results, spray in the early morning or late evening when the wind is calm and the sun is not at its peak.
