Thiamethoxam 25% WG is a broad-spectrum, systemic insecticide belonging to the neonicotinoid group.¹ It is widely used in agriculture and horticulture to control a variety of sucking and chewing pests.

The "WG" stands for Water-Dispersible Granules, which are dust-free, easy to handle, and dissolve quickly in water for spraying.

How It Works (Mode of Action)

• Systemic Action: Once applied, the chemical is rapidly absorbed by the plants roots or leaves and moves through the plant's vascular system (xylem). This ensures that even new growth is protected.

• Targeting the Nervous System: It disrupts the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in an insect's nervous system. This causes continuous nerve excitation, leading to paralysis and death within a few hours.

• Dual Exposure: Insects are controlled both by direct contact with the spray and by ingesting treated plant tissues.
