Glyphosate 71% SG

Glyphosate 71% SG is a high-strength, non-selective, systemic herbicide.¹ It is most commonly formulated as the ammonium salt of glyphosate in a water-soluble granule (SG) form. Unlike liquid formulations (like 41% SL), these granules dissolve in water for a potent foliar spray.

Key Characteristics

• Non-Selective: It kills almost all green plant tissue it touches. It does not distinguish between weeds and crops.

• Systemic Action: Once sprayed on leaves, it is absorbed and moves (translocates) down to the roots and rhizomes, ensuring the entire weedincluding the underground partsis destroyed.

• Post-Emergence: It must be applied to actively growing green weeds. It has no effect if applied to bare soil.

Usage & Dosage

This herbicide is widely used in Tea plantations, non-cropped areas (bunds, water channels, roadsides), and for "burn-down" before planting new crops.

Note: Always use clean water for mixing. Dirty or muddy water can deactivate the glyphosate and significantly reduce its effectiveness.

Application Tips for Best Results

• Growth Stage: Apply when weeds have at least 4 to 8 leaves. This provides enough surface area for the chemical to be absorbed.

• Weather: Apply on a clear, sunny day. It typically needs 36 hours of dry weather after application to be "rainfast" (not wash away).

• Nozzle Type: Use a Flood Jet or Flat Fan nozzle for uniform coverage and to minimize "drift" (spray blowing onto nearby plants you want to keep).

• Result Time: You will typically see yellowing in 710 days, with complete weed death in 23 weeks.
